Best Practices for AI Suggestions
Getting the Most from AI:
✅ DO:
• Generate suggestions after every 2-3 workouts • Review AI reasoning before applying • Use suggestions as a starting point, not gospel • Combine AI insights with your coaching expertise • Leverage AI's pattern detection to enhance your decision-making • Apply deload suggestions to prevent injury
❌ DON'T:
• Auto-apply all suggestions without review • Ignore client feedback in favor of AI • Generate suggestions before client has workout data (need 3+ workouts) • Forget to check for injuries/life stressors • Dismiss all suggestions - AI is trained on real data
Optimal Workflow:
Week 1-2: Baseline
• Assign workout plan with conservative starting weights • Let client establish performance baseline • No AI suggestions yet (insufficient data)
Week 3+: AI-Assisted Progression
• Generate AI suggestions weekly • Review and apply appropriate changes • Monitor Build Score and Forecast trends • Adjust based on client feedback
Every 4-6 Weeks: Deload
• AI will suggest deload when needed • Manually trigger if client reports fatigue • Use Team Notes to document recovery protocols
Communication Tips:
With Clients:
• "Based on your performance data, you're ready for a weight increase - great work!" • "Let's take a deload week based on your recent RPE scores" • "Your Build Score is trending up - you're crushing it!"
With Team:
• Use Team Notes for handoffs: "Covering this client? Check Team Notes for injury info" • Document workout plan changes: "Increased squat weight per AI suggestion on 11/20"
Troubleshooting:
"No AI suggestions available" • Client needs 3+ logged workouts • Check that client is logging RPE and weight • Ensure workout plan is assigned (not just a template)
"AI suggests deload but client feels fine" • Consider the data - RPE trends can indicate fatigue before clients feel it • Discuss with client: "Let's take a strategic recovery week" • Better to deload early than risk injury
"Forecast widget not showing" • Client needs 3+ workouts to unlock • Check Progress tab (not Notes tab) • Widget shows teaser until threshold met
