Connection & Server Issues
Service Temporarily Unavailable:
If you see a "Service Temporarily Unavailable" or "Connection Issue Detected" screen, this means BuildStability is having trouble connecting to our servers. Don't worry - your data is safe and the issue is usually temporary.
What You'll See:
• A professional error screen with a red/orange icon • Automatic diagnostics running to identify the issue • Quick troubleshooting tips • A "Try Again" button to retry the connection • A "Contact Support" link
Automatic Diagnostics:
The error screen runs automatic checks to help identify the problem: • Internet Connection - Can your device reach the internet? • Browser Online Status - Does your browser think you're online? • API Server - Can we reach BuildStability's servers? • DNS Resolution - Can your device resolve web addresses?
Quick Troubleshooting Steps:
Step 1: Check Your Internet Connection
• Try loading another website (e.g., google.com) • Check if other devices on your network have internet • Try switching between WiFi and mobile data • Restart your router if other sites also don't load
Step 2: Refresh the Page
• Click the "Try Again" button on the error screen • Or press Ctrl+Shift+R (Windows) / Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) for a hard refresh • Wait a few seconds and try again
Step 3: Clear Browser Cache
• Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data • Firefox: Settings → Privacy → Clear Data • Edge: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data
Step 4: Try a Different Browser
• If Chrome isn't working, try Firefox, Safari, or Edge • Try an incognito/private browsing window • Disable browser extensions temporarily
Step 5: Check for Network Issues
• Some corporate networks block certain websites • VPNs can sometimes cause connection issues • Try disabling your VPN temporarily • Contact your IT department if on a corporate network
When to Contact Support:
• If the issue persists for more than 15 minutes • If the diagnostics show "API Server: Server unreachable" • If other users are also experiencing issues • If you've tried all troubleshooting steps
What to Include When Contacting Support:
• The Error ID shown at the bottom of the error screen • Screenshot of the diagnostics results • Your browser and operating system • When the issue started • Any error messages from the browser console (F12 → Console)
Server Maintenance:
Occasionally, we perform scheduled maintenance which may cause temporary unavailability. We always try to: • Schedule maintenance during off-peak hours • Notify users in advance via email • Keep maintenance windows as short as possible • Post status updates on our status page
Pro Tip: If you see this error frequently, check your internet connection quality. Slow or unstable connections can cause timeout errors even when the server is working fine.
