Software Subscription Tab
Managing Your BuildStability Subscription:
Your BuildStability subscription is separate from Stripe Connect. You can subscribe immediately by selecting a plan and entering your card details — no Stripe Connect setup required. Stripe Connect is an optional feature for accepting card payments from your clients.
The Software Subscription tab (Business → Software Subscription, labelled Sub on mobile) shows your complete subscription status for the BuildStability platform itself.
What You'll See:
Current Subscription Card:
• Plan Name - Your current plan (e.g., "Build Stability - Pro") • Price - Your current billing amount (e.g., "£15.00 per month") • Status - One of the following: - "Renews [date]" (green) - Your subscription will renew at the current plan - "Changes to [plan] on [date]" (amber) - You have a scheduled downgrade - "Cancels [date]" (orange) - Your subscription will cancel at period end - "Payment failed" (red) - Please update your payment method
Next Payment Section (when applicable):
When you have a scheduled plan change (e.g., downgrade from Pro to Essential), you'll see: • Next payment amount - The price of your future plan (e.g., "£3.00 for Build Stability - Essential") • Effective date - When the change takes effect (e.g., "Starting 2 March 2026")
This matches the information shown in the Stripe billing portal, giving you full transparency without needing to leave BuildStability.
Scheduled Plan Change Banner:
If you've scheduled a downgrade, you'll also see a prominent amber banner at the top explaining: • What plan you're changing to • When the change takes effect • If you have more clients than the new plan allows, options to keep your current plan or archive clients
Managing Your Subscription:
To Upgrade:
Click "Upgrade Plan" to see available tiers and pricing. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing.
To Downgrade or Cancel:
Click "Manage Billing & Subscription" to open the Stripe Customer Portal where you can: • Change your plan (downgrades take effect at period end) • Update payment method • View invoices and payment history • Cancel your subscription
Syncing with Stripe:
When you return from the Stripe portal, BuildStability automatically syncs your subscription status. You can also trigger a manual sync by clicking "Manage Billing & Subscription".
Note: The Software Subscription tab manages your BuildStability platform subscription, not your clients' memberships. To manage client memberships, go to Business → Membership Plans.
